As a result of a multi-stage special operation , 9 Russian agents were simultaneously detained in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy, as well as in Donetsk, Odesa and Kirovohrad regions.<\/p>\n\n

For the sake of conspiracy , the defendants acted separately , butwere “locked in” to one FSB officer. He has already been identified by the Security Service.<\/p>\n\n

On the instructions of a Russian intelligence officer , the agents collected coordinates for to target the Defense Forces and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n

The enemy group included two officials. One of them is an official at the Dnipro City Council, and the other is the head of a department at the Yuzhne City Council in Odesa Oblast.<\/p>\n\n

They established the locations of air defense systems and key power substations to adjust Russian shelling on the territory of both regions.<\/p>\n\n

Two more agents were reconnoitering the locations of fortifications and positions of Ukrainian heavy artillery near Pokrovsk and Chasovyi Yar.<\/p>\n\n

Their accomplice was collecting information about the locations of the and military equipment of Kurakhove’s defenders in Donetsk Oblast.<\/p>\n\n

Also among the Russian agents were two managers and a university student, who recorded the movement of Ukrainian army echelons towards the eastern front.<\/p>\n\n

Another traitor was an ex-officer of the disbanded police force, who “reported” to the occupiers on the consequences of the Russian attack on one of Ukraine’s hydroelectric power plants.<\/p>\n\n

According to the investigation, the defendants came to the attention of the FSB as active “commentators” on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.<\/p>\n\n

After remote recruitment , the traitors communicated with their Russian handler through anonymous chatbots in a popular messenger.<\/p>\n\n

During the searches , cell phones with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities in favor of Russia were seized from the detainees .<\/p>\n\n

SBU investigators have now served them a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of the law. 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).<\/p>\n\n

The offenders are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n\n
