His 100 m\u00b2 apartment in an elite district of Odesa was also confiscated. <\/p>\n\n<p>Since Mashkov is hiding in Russia, the trial took place in absentia, in a special in absentia proceeding.<\/p>\n\n<p>Mashkov is one of the Kremlin&#8217;s propagandists who regularly speaks at rallies in support of Russia&#8217;s war. In December 2023, he became co-chairman of Putin&#8217;s &#8220;election headquarters&#8221;, visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and supported the occupation forces.
