The Security Service of Ukraine detained a 30-year-old resident of Odesa who worked as an agent of Russian special services in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The suspect mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to adjust fire for Russian troops on Ukrainian positions. According to the investigation, he was recruited through Telegram channels, where he was looking for opportunities to make quick money, and after successfully completing a “test task” was instructed by Russian curators to join the military.
During his service, he collected secret coordinates that he planned to pass on to Russia to organize attacks on training centers and deployment points of the Ukrainian air defense forces. The SBU detained him while he was preparing to transfer the coordinates, and found a cell phone with evidence of his cooperation with Russian special services.
The agent was charged under part. 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason under martial law. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
